New York Deer Stories and Deer Impact Assessment

Tom Rawinski will be returning to the epicenter of deer knowledge to preach to the choir about white-tailed deer impacts.  As once he collected plant specimens, Tom now collects deer stories and deer impact data.  He will distribute copies of his publication, White-tailed Deer in Northeastern Forests: Understanding and Assessing Impacts, available from the Forest Service website. 

Tom will share his experiences across New York State assisting with deer impact assessment and monitoring, and provide an overview of his soon-to-be published monitoring protocol called the “ten-tallest method” (See below).  And, of course, he will reminisce about his years at Cornell, telling stories about three influential people named Robert – ha!
