Living Light

The Finger Lakes Native Plant Society (FLNPS) has organized a juried art exhibit celebrating the beauty and diversity of our region's wild plants and fungi. The show features over 75 works, in a variety of two- and three-dimensional media, created by 50 talented artists from throughout the Finger Lakes and beyond.

*    The show's run:  January 18 – March 26, 2010;  hosted at the Tompkins County Public Library  (website includes hours and location)

*    Opening reception:  Friday, January 22, 4-7pm  (in conjunction with Ithaca's Gallery Night and the Light in Winter festival)

*    Workshops & plant walks:  Jan–Mar  (in conjunction with the Living Light exhibit)  Schedule of walks & workshops

The show's jury includes three local artists, each of whom has established a reputation for excellence in a different medium: Camille Doucet, painting and botanical illustration; Eric Serritella, ceramic art; and David Watkins, Jr., photography. All have used their artwork to explore and express their continuing fascination with plants. Please take a moment to read more about our guest jurors.
