Asian bittersweet is a very aggressive vine that overtops and strangles trees and shrubs. It is prohibited in New York; it is illegal to purchase, sell, transport or propagate. There is also a native bittersweet that looks very similar at first glance.  Please research the differences, e.g. the location of flowers & fruits axially vs. predominantly at the ends of branches, prior to any removal efforts.
