Can appear vine-like climbing through trees. Has fringed petioles which native roses do not. Flowers are white, 5-petaled and spring blooming. Fruits persist throughout winter and are eaten and dispersed by birds and wildlife. Grows in impenetrable thickets and aggressively displaces native species.
