Uvularia sessilifolia

More common in northern NY, but frequent in cooler forests in the Finger Lakes. Branching, with one flower per stem most common. Shorter than the other two Uvularia spp in our region. In the absence of flowers, distinguish the three Finger Lakes natives by the leaves. Fully clasping or perfoliate with hairy undersides is U. grandiflora, perfoliate with minimal hairs underside is U. perfoliata, and sessile but not perfoliate is U. sessilifolium.
