Deciduous |
||
A condition in which leaves or other plant organs wither or drop at a given time, such as the changing of the seasons during autumn, or the completion of their function. For example, stamens and/or petals may drop after the completion of their function, such as pollination or fertilization. So, it could be said, "The stamens are deciduous." See also the term persistent." |
