Flower head |
||
. In the broadest sense, a flower head is a congested set of very small, sessile florets that are borne on a shared peduncle. This term is probably used most often with regard to species of the composite family (Asteraceae), but it could be extended to describe the inflorescences of others, such as Dipsacus (Caprifoliaceae) or Trifolium (Fabaceae). |
