Lobe

The term "lobe" is used in several contexts.

(1) as an extension of an edge of a leaf.  Lobes are typically much larger and more prominent than teeth.  The gap between two lobes is called a "sinus".  Lobes may have rounded (blunt) tips, or they may have sharp-pointed tips.

(2)  as the unfused portion of a "petal" of a flower (floret) for those flowers in which all the petals are partially fused to form a bell- or vase-shaped corolla.
