weak-stemmed,
herbaceous
plant
that
needs
to
climb
onto
nearby
objects,
other
plants
or
itself
in
order
to
support
itself
and
gain
access
to
sunlight.
Woody vines are similar to herbaceous vines, especially when their fresh shoots are young and haven't developed woody tissue. We include them in our classification here in a separate category. See liana for more information and images. |
