Description
What is a BioBlitz?
A BioBlitz is an action-packed day designed as part scientific endeavor, part contest, part environmental festival, and part educational program. During a BioBlitz, scientists come together in a race against time to count as many species as they can in a given area over a 24-hour period.
Where will the SIPS BioBlitz be held?
Next September, Cornell’s School of Integrative Plant Science (SIPS) will showcase our local biodiversity with a BioBlitz at Cayuga Nature Center (CNC), located only seven miles from downtown Ithaca. Thanks to generations of Cornell biologists, the flora and fauna of the Cayuga Lake Basin is among the most well-known in the world.
You are invited!
You or your club are invited to participate in our BioBlitz, which is open to both students and local citizens alike. During this 24-hour biological survey you and other biologists will have the opportunity to share your passions with people of all ages, working side-by-side toward a common goal.
NOTE: TIMES ARE JUST FILLERS - ACTUAL TIMES HAVE NOT BEEN PROVIDED YET.
