Join naturalist Charlie Smith to explore the fields of the West River Preserve in Italy, Yates County. This Audubon designated Important Bird Area encompasses 64 acres of restored grassland habitat and is home to a variety of plants, dragonflies, butterflies, and birds. Wear long pants and hiking shoes as we may wade into the grass. Also bring water, a sun hat, insect repellent, and binoculars if you have them. In the event of pouring rain, this event will be held the following day, July 15.
