Lonesome Bay State Forest rocky woodlands sport a terrific spring wildflower show. Other plants of interest include leatherwood (Dirca palustris), moonseed (Menispermum canadense), Carex sprengellii, Carex backii. There are also open acid rocky tops that sport a different type of vegetation. The butterflies and dragonflies at this site are diverse and add another dimension to this trip. Difficulty: Medium.
