Saturday, May 18th at 10am – NYFA Field Trip - Flora of RichWoods and Rocky Tops Join us as we explore a rich, calcareous state forest in the North Country. Lonesome Bay State Forest rocky woodlands sport a terrific spring wildflower show. Other plants of interest include leatherwood (Dirca palustris), moonseed (Menispermum canadense), Carex sprengellii, Carex backii. There are also open acid rocky tops that sport a different type of vegetation. The butterflies and dragonflies at this site are diverse and add another dimension to this trip. Difficulty: Medium. We plan to be finished around 3pm. This trip is limited to 20 participants. Visit nyflora.org at the link above to register.
