Description

DATE CHANGED as spring is moving quickly!!

The Genesee Valley Conservancy is reserving 20 places in their annual, coveted bluebell hike for FLNPS members. See large oaks and hawthorns, a wide array of spring ephemerals, and a beautifully vast monoculture of Mertensia virginica. Please only sign up if you know you will be able to attend, as this hike along private property is only open once per year.  This 3.5 mile hike takes between 90 minutes and 2 hours to complete on average and requires hiking on trails, across agricultural fields, through mud, and up/down short steep slopes. No motorized support is available. You will need to wear hiking footwear (rubber boots advisable for the unavoidable mud), dress for the weather, and bring along water/snacks. A change of shoes and/or a towel is advisable for the car ride home.

Use the link above to sign up, and further instruction will be sent closer to the hike itself.

Though there is no cost to attend, please consider donating to the Genesee Valley Conservancy on the day of the walk.
