White-tailed deer have proliferated in the Finger Lakes region, and overgrazing threatens many native plants. But can some plants evolve to tolerate heavy browse? Laura asks whether some populations of jewelweed, an annual wetland herb, already have. More broadly, Laura asks whether invasive species -- whether native (like deer) or introduced (like honeysuckle) -- always have negative ecological consequences
