Time: 10 am - 2 pm Leader/Contact: Donna Vogler, Donna.Vogler@oneonta.edu Where to meet: DEC Fishing Access, Exit 13 of I-88 Description: This trip will start with a 2-hour stroll along some sandbars of the Susquehanna River at the Oneonta Susquehanna Greenway at Exit 13 off I-88. The streambanks have several sedges and floodplain endemics including cardinal flower. Next we will drive to Wells Bridge, stopping for a lunch break. You may bring your own lunch, but we will be stopping at Pie in the Sky where lunch or ice cream can be purchased. At Wells Bridge (off Rt. 7) we can take turns using a kayak to access an area on the Susquehanna River to see waterweed, Podostemum ceratophyllum (S2), and other stream aquatics for about an hour. If you have a canoe or kayak you may wish to put in at Wells Bridge and pull out at Unadilla to extend the day. What to Bring: Snacks and lunch, water, typical field gear, swimsuits, water shoes, waterproof bags.
