One of many crabapple species and cultivars that have naturalized in the eastern U.S. This one has fragrant white flowers, pea sized red or yellow fruit and is relatively large (30-40' high & wide). The leaves are unlobed, and the taxonomy is "difficult", needing more research. It is a very long-lived tree; surviving from old homesteads but also naturalizing in the Finger Lakes to the point of invasiveness.
