An escape from garden water features that spreads easily by runners and survives winters in mud or under water. Listed in several states as an invasive and it is illegal to propagate, sell, purchase, transport, or introduce this species in NY. Despite the lack of validated specimens in the Finger Lakes portion of the NYFA Atlas, it is here.
