Vitis spp.

There are five grape species and three wild hybrids in New York, plus whatever is at wineries. They are found in fields & forests, growing up & sometimes overwhelming trees & shrubs while providing food & shelter for wildlife.  There is a dichotomous key at the Native Plant Trust that has our five species (plus one) - click here.
