Chaumont Barrens

An "alvar" grassland preserve, owned by The Nature Conservancy, near Chaumont NY (Jefferson Co.). The barrens are a good example of a rare ecosystem, with unique plants. There is a short trail that winds through the various features of the grassland and barrens.
