Most sightings are of escaped saplings & seedlings near cultivated areas, e.g. parks, cemetaries, campus surrounds, but the species is moving into natural areas. A med-tall tree, sometimes multi-trunked, planted mostly for colorful spring & fall foliage. Dioecious, so single trees may not bear fruit. Seedlings are easy to pull up if noticed in time.
