Chelone glabra

Turtlehead is found in wet and moist areas with at least partial sun. It is the host plant for Baltimore Checkerspot butterflies. This butterfly larvae forms webs the first year, overwinter in leaf litter, then return in spring and mature their second year. They can decimate their host plant, but for a good cause.

Seedling

The leaves don't look distinct at first.
