Eupatorium serotinum

Very widespread native range, but questionably native in NY state. NYFA Atlas classified this species as indeterminate nativity in 2018, which means it is not clear whether the plant is moving in on its own (native) or via human interference (non-native). "In southeastern New York it has become quite common in the right habitats, mostly disturbed sites, but it does grow in some native habitats like river shores. In central New York it will likely become more common in the near future." (D. Mostly opposite, toothed leaves having distinct petioles, flat or nearly flat inflorescence of white flowers. Lower leaves are often absent by flowering time in drier locales. Pollinators are quite attracted to this species.
