Eutrochium maculatum

Very similar in appearance to other locally occuring Joe Pye weeds. Found in wetlands, mostly in full sun. The stems are usually purple-spotted, but sometimes uniformly purple. Stems are also usually solid, but sometimes hollow near the base. Flora NA states that E. maculatum has the widest geographical range and is the most morphologically varied species in the genus.
