Hypopitys monotropa

Pine-saps are mycotrophs, receiving nutrients via fungal mycelia rather than through photosynthesis. They are often found near oaks.(GoBotany) Blooms in July-early August in the Finger Lakes. See similar red pinesap Hypopitys lanuginosa.
