Lilium canadense
Wet thickets, moist forests and moist field edges. Flowers best in full sun but survives deer better in thickets. Pollinated primarily by hummingbirds. The flower color is variable from yellow through orange to red. One clue when distinguishing L. canadense from similar downfacing orange lilies is the curve of the tepals - they curve back, but only a little and remain in front of the base of the flower.
