Lithospermum latifolium
Rare in the Finger Lakes, and threatened in the state, this understated plant of rich bottomland forests is interesting to find. The light green leaves are covered in hairs and the white fruits exemplify another one of its common names - stoneseed. A natural population can be seen in Cornell's Mundy Wildflower Garden.
