Phryma leptostachya
Most common in floodplain forests. Native to the eastern two-thirds of North America as Phryma leptostachya var. leptostachya. A similar looking but genetically different variety (var. asiatica) is native to eastern Asia. Outfacing pink, white, or pink & white flowers bloom from the bottom to top of the stem. Seed pods hang down along the stem (lopseed).
