Rudbeckia fulgida
The NY Flora Atlas lists two varieties that are naturalized in the state. Native from NJ to IN & south, this species is commonly used in gardens & frequently in "native meadow" mixes, hence can be found in the wild. Rudbeckia fulgida var sullivantii 'Goldsturm' is ubiquitous in gardens (sometimes listed as R. fulgida var speciosa 'Goldsturm'.).
