Solidago ulmifolia
Found in dry wooded areas; seems to prefer limey soils and dappled shade. An excellent wildlife and pollinator species. (Note that S. ulmifolia does not have the 3 prominent leaf veins of more rambunctious goldenrods, e.g. S. canadensis or S. rugosa.) Uncommon in the Finger Lakes region. See Botphoto.info for ID help.
Wide leaves and heavily toothed leaves, but still not distinctive.
