Spiraea alba var. latifolia

A low shrub that attracts insects, spreading in moist meadows, forest edges, and wetlands. Can also be found on rocky summits. A small-medium shrub found mostly in moist habitats, but also on summits with thin soil layers. Distinguished from S. alba var alba by wider leaves that are roughly serrated, and an inflorescence that is more open and pyramidal. [Flora North America] Larval host for the spring Azure butterfly.
