Streptopus lanceolatus

A branching, zig-zag stemmed plant of rich, moist woods. More common in cooler locations. The flowers range in colors, mostly reds through pink to white. Foliage can be confused with S. amplexifolius (clasping nearly perfoliate leaves with glaucus undersides), Prosartes, and even Maianthemum racemosum (no branching). The flower stalks are strongly twisted. Red fruits.
