Stylophorum diphyllum
Available in the gardening trade, and native nearby, but not native to the Finger Lakes region nor NY state. Often confused with the invasive Chelidonium majus, a weedy invasive with smaller flowers but sharing "Celandine" in the common name. See https://bplant.org/compare/586-8527 for a comparison.
Distinctive leaves even when young. A very prolific self-sower in moist woods. Non-native in NY.
