Symphyotrichum pilosum var pilosum

A weedy species found along roads, in old fields, and waste areas in the eastern half of North America. Prefers dry, open sites. The presence of hairs is one difference between this variety of S. pilosum. Symphyotrichum pilosum var. pringlei (glabrous leaves & stems) is also found in the Finger Lakes region.
