Trillium undulatum
Seen on esker ridges in our area; in cool forests throughout the state. Throughout its range it is intolerant of calcareous soils, most often found in deep shade in acidic humus.
Trillium seedlings will emerge 1 yr (or more) post sowing & enlarge until 3 leaflets emerge 3-4 years post sowing.
