One of the small tree or large shrub type Amelanchiers in our region. It can be distinguished by small green leaves at flowering (A. leavis has expanded reddish-purple tinged leaves at flowering) and longer flower stalks than A. canadensis. Found in a variety of conditions from forests, bluffs, roadsides even to swamps. Use a key for identification.
