Quercus rubra
Medium to tall tree found in a wide varity of habitats, from moist to dry, lots of different soils, and high to low elevations. Leaves are sharp lobed, with the sinuses usually less than half way to the center rib. Acorns have a bienniel pattern. Oaks are the most useful tree to the most species per Doug Tallamy.
