Staphylea trifolia
Found in rocky areas & thin soils over rock, but also in floodplains & forests. Stoloniferous and can spread into tall (10-15') thicket in rich soil & sun. Young bark is striped green/brown & white, the flowers are hanging bells, and the seed pods are distinctive.
