Allium canadense
Easily distinguished when the flower stalks are topped by bulblets that will grow into more plants. Usually found in rich soil. Edible by wildlife and humans. The similar looking invasive Alliium vineale can be identified by the leaves. The leaves of A. vineale are elliptic in cross-section with a hollow interior (at least at their bases), while A. candadense has leaves that are flat and solid throughout (Illinois Wildflowers).
