Solanum carolinense
A thorny plant of disturbed and sandy soils, horse-nettle is often seen in old fields. It is considered a noxious agricultural weed in some areas, as suggested by some of it's common names: apple of Sodom, bull nettle, devil's tomato, sand briar.
