Viola rostrata

Long spurred violet is native to eastern North America in rich woodlands with well drained soils. It is stemmed (leaves on the flower stem) and has the longest spur of North American Viola species. It hybridizes with other stemmed natives often enough that the hybrids are named:  with V. labradorica (= V. ×malteana) and with V. striata (= V. ×brauniae).
