Fern Walk - Robert Treman State Park
Join Audrey for a walk through the fern-rich woods at Upper Treman State Park. A group of Intrepid Pteridologists found 18 species in 2018! Prepare for your visit by reading the trip report beginning on page 5 of the Sept. 2018 issue of Solidago (link above). Meet at 10:30 am at CCE to carpool or at the site at 11. A fee will be charged for parking.
Lime Hollow Fens and Woodlands
Michael Hough, a botanist and instructor at SUNY Cortland, will lead the group through rich woodlands to some scattered rich fens populated with Canada lily, orchids, and other interesting fen plants. Most of the walk will be on well-maintained trails with moderate slopes. Total distance about 1 mile round-trip. Access to fens will require footwear suitable for wet conditions, typically ankle deep in spots, though both are located close to trails. Actual time spent in the fens will be minimal to reduce disturbance.
Tree Walk - Danby State Forest
Join Akiva for a walk in the woods as we hike along the Abbot Loop in the Danby State Forest. The walk will focus on ecology, human interactions with nature, and tree and shrub identification.You can either meet up at CCE at 9:30 AM to carpool, or meet at Diane's Crossing on Michigan Hollow Rd.

Spring Wildflowers of a Rich Shale Talus (joint with NYFA) LIMITED, MUST REGISTER
Sunday, May 12 at 10:00am– 2:00pm– Spring Wildflowers of a Rich Shale Talus Walk at Shindagin Hollow State Forest led by Robert Wesley. This is a medium difficulty walk and a joint trip with the New York Flora Association.
