Spring Flora in Smith Woods (CNC & FLNPS)
Join Marvin Pritts (Horticulture Professor and Cayuga Nature Center Board Member) and Cindy Rice (Manager of Outdoor Education at Cayuga Nature Center) for a spring walk in Smith Woods. Smith Woods is a spectacular 30 acre remnant of old growth forest in the heart of Trumansburg. Explore the trails, see wildflowers, and participate in tree identification. Meet at the corner of Cemetery and Falls Road.
Lime Hollow Forest & Wetlands
Michael Hough, a botanist and instructor at SUNY Cortland, will lead the group through a buttonbush swamp with some interesting wetland species like Wild Calla, and the acid woodlands around the swamp might provide a glimpse of the Pink Lady's Slipper and ebony spleenwort. Walking along the Lehigh Trail through rich woodlands we’ll see Canada Waterleaf, Black Snakeroot, Canada Honewort, and near and in the marl ponds, Canada Moonseed and Carex viridula. If we have time we may take a detour to Chicago Bog to look for bog species. Meet at CCE at 12 noon to carpool.

Mosses & Liverworts for Birdwatchers
Mosses and Liverworts - An easy walk along even terrain, at the Cornell Lab of Ornithology on Sapsucker Rd, Ithaca. May be slow going at times, so dress accordingly. Bring a 10x hand lens. Meet at 1 pm at the CCE parking lot (615 Willow Ave., Ithaca--click on map link above) to carpool.

Bryology and Ethology- Nature Walk at Five Wells Preserve
The walk will be on Bill's Land in Freeville. The walk will focus on mosses along with Bill's natural history commentary.
Lichen Outing
Outing will focus on developing skills to identify stunning lichens through morphology. Dress appropriately for the weather.
