This 3.5 mile hike takes between 90 minutes and 2 hours to complete on average and requires hiking on trails, across agricultural fields, through mud, and up/down short steep slopes. No motorized support is available.

There is no cost to attend, but they are grateful for any donations in support of local land conservation before/after your hike (cash/check/charge).

Please join  for a tour of this world-class museum on Saturday, April 26th 2025, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Herbarium. How To Find Us: We are located east of the Cornell campus. From Cornell’s Vet School, drive east on Rt. 366, turn right onto Game Farm Road, and right again at Gallus Road, just beyond McGowan’s Woods. We are in the third white building on the right, with plenty of parking at the door.

We will be collecting summer & early fall seeds for use in the Cornell Botanic Gardens propagation efforts, the FLNPS December seed exchange, and for your garden if you wish. Learn about how to collect & store seed and how to identify past-bloom plants. Learn to identify asters & goldenrods from the man who wrote the most recent key for Central NY. (Updated version provided to participants.) This will be a small group walk. PLEASE let us know if you have registered and can no longer attend so that someone from the wait list can attend.Larch Meadow is low-lying natural area in the southwest corner of Buttermilk Falls State Park, in New York. It is bordered on the south and west by the Cayuga Lake Inlet (creek). In general, the plant community at Larch Meadow is rich and diverse.
